Harold Hunter Day VII went down at the LES Skatepark in NYC on Saturday, October 12, 2013.
On Saturday, October 12th, the NYC skateboarding community came out in droves for the 7th Annual Harold Hunter Day at the Coleman Oval/LES Skatepark under the Manhattan Bridge. Like every year, it was an awesome event that paid tribute to Harold by celebrating the things he loved most: skateboarding, music, friends, family, and of course, New York City.
Huge thanks to all the sponsors that pitched in to make HH Day VII happen including Airwalk, Skullcandy, Zoo York, Monster Energy, Supreme, 5boro, SHUT, TORRO!, Rock Star Bearings, Trophy Grip, New Breed, UXA, Shake Shack, The Professionals: NYC Sound Company, and all the skaters that showed up to throw down for Harold!
LEGENDS NEVER DIE!
The Harold Hunter Foundation (HHF), in association with primary sponsors Airwalk, Skullcandy, Zoo York, Monster Energy, and Supreme, is proud to announce the 7th Annual Harold Hunter Day will go down Saturday, October 12th, from 1:00-5:00pm at NYC’s Coleman Oval/L.E.S. Skatepark under the Manhattan Bridge.
Established in 2006 after Harold’s untimely passing, and managed by the non-profit Harold Hunter Foundation, Harold Hunter Day VII will once again unite NYC’s tight-knit skate community for a positive, fun-filled day of skateboarding in memory of Harold. The event celebrates what Harold cherished most: skateboarding, music, friends, family, and of course, New York City.
Hosted by Jefferson Pang and Dave Ortiz, with live music provided by DJ Smoke L.E.S., Harold Hunter Day VII will feature an all-ages skate jam with appearances by pro skateboarders, pop-up Best Trick contests, and massive product giveaways.
As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Harold Hunter Foundation relies on support from the skate community and related outlets to achieve its mission of using skateboarding as a vehicle to provide inner-city youth with valuable life experiences that nurture individual creativity, resourcefulness and the development of life skills.
In this spirit, one of the HHF’s major initiatives each year is its Skate Camp Scholarship. Since the organization’s inception, close to 100 scholarships have been awarded to deserving local skaters to attend Camp Woodward and/or the Element YMCA Skate Camp through funds raised by the HHF.
With fundraising in mind, this fall the Harold Hunter Foundation will proudly release three limited edition collaborations with Airwalk, Skullcandy and Zoo York. Proceeds from all three collabs will benefit the HHF to help further its youth-focused programs.
The Hunter Collection by Airwalk features a skate shoe and t-shirt capsule that pays homage to Harold. The low profile, vulcanized sneaker retails for $50.00, and the t-shirt for $19.99. Both co-branded items are exclusively available at Airwalk.com, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the HHF.
Harold was a huge music fan, so collaborating with Skullcandy was a natural fit. The HHF x Skullcandy Aviator headphone is emblazoned with an iconic portrait of Harold that was photographed by Giovanni Reda. Featuring industry-leading Supreme Sound technology and a sophisticated aesthetic, only 100 pairs of the hand-numbered and assembled headphones will be available beginning October 12th at Skullcandy.com, TheBerrics.com, and the SHUT store on NYC’s Lower East Side. All proceeds will benefit the HHF.
Harold was one of the OG members of the Zoo Crew. It was his legendary antics and larger-than-life personality that helped put the NYC skate scene on the map years ago. Zoo York is celebrating the extraordinary history of East Coast skateboarding with its new Zoo York Kings collection. To launch the premium apparel and hardgoods offering, and celebrate the life and times of Harold, Zoo York has teamed up with the Harold Hunter Foundation to release a limited edition deck and t-shirt. The collaborative kit will only be available at select skate shops, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the HHF.
Harold Hunter Day VII is made possible through generous support from the aforementioned primary sponsors as well as 5boro, SHUT, TORRO!, Rock Star Bearings, Trophy Grip, New Breed, UXA, Shake Shack, The Professionals: NYC Sound Company, and the collective NYC skateboarding community.

Twenty-four lucky NYC shredders killed it at Woodward this year, as they always do.
Check the official recap by Akira Ruiz and Paul Park of these kids killing it at camp. Made possible by generous support from Larry Clark, the American Chai Foundation, and donors to the 2013 HHF Skate Camp Scholarship Fund.
This summer, HHF and Airwalk teamed up to teach kids from Brownsville how to skate. Our mission being to keep these kids away from negative influences.
This summer, twenty-one lucky NYC skateboarders went out to Camp Woodward to spend a week skating in one of Harold’s favorite places in the world. This year, for the very first time, HHF sent a camper to Woodward for the Digital Media program. HHF intern Amber Cruceta got to film the rest of the twenty HHF campers which lead to an edit that got Amber Target Camper of the Week! Representing Harold and the foundation to the fullest!
